Il disegno per definizione e’ un tratto in movimento, un gesto istintivo che lascia una traccia, ha un inizio e una fine, un davanti e un didietro.
Il movimento e’ un tema privilegiato per Lamberto Angelini, un’eredita’ dell’esperienza vissuta presso il Centro Stile Volkswagen a Wolfsburg.
L’idea stessa del movimento provoca un’emozione che si ritrova nel disegno.
A drawing is a series of strokes, spontaneous and instinctive acts that leave a moving trail with a beginning and an end, a front and a back, that lead to the third dimension. The essence of movement is a personal passion for Angelini. The very idea of movement evokes a creative emotion that is clearly transferred to the product’s design.
Il Product Design integra interpretazione stilistica e funzionalità’.
Questa forzata convivenza può’ suggerire soluzioni particolarmente innovative, dando origine a prodotti dalla forte riconoscibilità’, tanto da identificarsi col marchio dell’azienda produttrice. Un esempio è il Guscio TV Meliconi, il salvatelecomando in poliuretano che ha inventato un nuovo bisogno; o la Sphera Roncato, la prima valigia verticale che ha anticipato il trolley.
Product design combines both styling and functionality. This mandatory integration of both fantasy and practicality can often give rise to remarkable design solutions that transfer to the product a character and identity of such strength that it becomes synonymous with its brand. An example is the polyurethane TV remote-control-protection ‘Bodyguard‘ designed for Meliconi, which chimed with the public’s needs and has subsequently been produced in its millions; or the ‘Roncato Sphera’ which signposted the way to the now ubiquitous upright luggage.

Da questo allenamento si generano nuove idee per nuovi prodotti di cui il designer e’ interprete e autore unico, ed assume un ruolo attivo e propositivo. Nascono così’ nuovi progetti, modelli e prototipi che non sempre vedono la luce, ma spesso ispirano altre idee che generano progetti, modelli e prototipi in una reazione a catena.
From blank paper to the final prototype. The designer’s creative drive goes through research, development and verification – all a committed quest for perfection and innovation. During this creative process, new and unrelated ideas may germinate. These embryos may not all be born fully formed, but they may contribute to and inspire future designs and new products, as part of a creative chain reaction.
